Our Goals
Oregon has a treasure in the heart of downtown, a very visible link to our past. We recently completed the restoration of the Pump House, now the Oregon Welcome Center. We are now focusing our efforts upward, to the historic Water Tower. Architecturally, our Water Tower is called the Tin Man style. It has been 34 years since the Tin Man has been restored and repainted. Like the Welcome Center, we want to restore and repaint the historic Tin Man Water Tower and make it once again a vibrant unmistakable marker for downtown and show our Village of Oregon pride.

Mission Statement of the Friends of the Historic Oregon Water Tower
The mission of the Friends of the Historic Oregon Water Tower is to work with Village of Oregon residents and community at-large, Village governmental officials, and the Village of Oregon Historic Preservation Commission to restore the condition of the Pump House, including the inside and outside of the building, repaint the Water Tower, and improve the grounds surrounding both with landscaping. Our goals are: 1) Increase awareness and inform the community about the historical importance of the Pump House and Water Tower; 2) Increase community participation in fundraising and participation in the restoration of the Pump House and Water Tower; and 3) Through the restoration of the Pump House, create a new public community space that benefits all Village of Oregon residents.
